Since I’ve moved to Italy few years ago I’ve been told I should visit Sardinia in the summer, and every time I hopped to any Mediterranean destination I kept asking myself why not Sardinia next?
So this time I waited until the end of August, when hordes of Italian holiday-makers start moving back to their cities, and I jumped on a flight to Olbia, the northern city and a gateway to the famous Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast). This corner of Sardinia has been a playground for rich and famous for many decades, and while for some it does not represent the true Sardinia, for others it is the dream destination for good life and stunning beaches. Without trying to decide who’s right, since it is the most famous area I thought it would be the best starting point.

เกาะซาร์ดีเนียตั้งอยู่ในทะเลเมดิเตอร์เรเนียนทางตอนใต้ของประเทศอิตาลี เป็นเกาะขนาดใหญ่อันดับสองรองจากเกาะซิชิลี เราจับเครื่องบินไปลงที่ Olbia เมืองทางเหนือของเกาะ และประตูสู่ Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast) หาดแห่งทะเลสีมรกตที่เป็นจุดนัดพบของบรรดาเศรษฐีผู้มีรสนิยม และนั่นคือสาเหตุที่เราปักหลักกันที่นี่ ชนชั้นกลางผู้มีรสนิยมสูงรายได้ต่ำ hi-so low income อย่างเราๆขอเห็นเป็นบุญตาซักครั้งว่าเหล่าเซเลปตัวจริงเสียงจริงเขามีไลฟ์สไตล์การท่องเที่ยวหรูหราขนาดไหนกันเชียว
We decided to base ourselves on the hills of Arzachena, in a pretty country style hotel called Hotel Li Finistreddi. Strategically located to explore the area and well equipped with a stunning swimming pool and beautiful gardens overlooking the Maddalena Archipelago in the distance. The room is small yet cosy with balcony. The restaurant serves freshly caught seafood platters in a great ambience.
โรงแรมที่เราพัก Hotel Li Finistreddi นั้นตั้งอยู่บนเนินเขา Arzachena ฉะนั้นเรื่องวิวไม่ต้องพูดถึง สามารถมองเห็นทั้งบรรยากาศชนบทล้อมรอบ ทั้งทะเล และไหนจะยังเห็นไกลไปถึงอุทยานแห่งชาติ Maddalena Archipelago ที่อยู่อีกเกาะเลยทีเดียวค่ะ จุดชมวิวที่สวยที่สุดของโรงแรมอยู่ที่สระว่ายน้ำ infinity pool ชั้นบน ใช่ค่ะ ที่นี่มีสระว่ายน้ำถึงสองสระ สระน้ำชั้นล่างนั้นอยู่ท่ามกลางสวนสวยในบรรยากาศสงบ ส่วนชั้นบนเป็นเหมือนเทอร์เรซเชื่อมมาจากล๊อบบี้และห้องอาหาร วิวป่าเขียวในชนบทตัดกับสระน้ำสีฟ้าสด สวยสะกดทุกสายตา เป็นมุมสุดโปรดยามบ่ายที่เราชอบมานั่งเล่นพักผ่อน (และถ่ายรูป!) อีกที่ที่ติดใจไม่แพ้กันคือห้องอาหารค่ะ ที่นี่เขาเสิร์ฟเมนูซีฟู้ดในบรรยากาศโรแมนติก หอยนางรมและล๊อบสเตอร์ตัวใหญ่และสดมาก นาทีนี้เอาอะไรมาแลกก็ไม่ยอม!
Our first night we visited the picturesque village of San Pantaleo, under recommendation of our neighbour who visits Sardinia every summer. A very charming little town on top of the hill, with handcraft shops, a great vibe and plenty of people enjoying the quintessential Italian lifestyle. We had a great dinner at Giagoni on the main square, possibly the best choice for both food and people watching, specially with a cold glass of local digestive Mirto in my hand.

อาหารเย็นมื้อแรกของเราที่ร้าน Giagoni ต้องบอกว่าประทับใจสุดๆ เป็นร้านดังประจำเมืองที่คนท้องถิ่นมากันอุ่นหนาฝาคั่ง เที่ยวนี้เราได้ลองเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์สำหรับช่วยย่อยหลังอาหาร (digestive) ของพื้นเมือง มีชื่อว่า Mirto เรียกตามชื่อสมุนไพรกลิ่นอโรมาติกที่ใช้ทำเครื่องดื่ม รสนุ่มๆออกขมปนหวานคล้ายกับ Amaro ถูกปากมากค่ะ แต่หาดื่มยากเหลือเกิน สงสัยต้องหาเรื่องกลับไปที่ซาร์ดีเนียอีกรอบซะแล้ว
Next day it was time to explore the beaches, with many little bays to choose from we asked the concierge to recommend something for our couple of days.
Liscia Ruja is a very popular and well equipped beach, while probably not up there with the best still a good choice for a relaxing afternoon; but it was Spiaggia del Principe that made me understand all the fuss about Sardinia.
A small and natural beach with pristine waters, it is said to be the Prince Aga Khan’s favourite spot and for all the good reasons, and if you are wondering who this person is, he’s the guy who developed this part of Sardinia from a sleepy group of villages to a World famous tourist hotspot.

Liscia Ruja หาดชื่อดังที่มีบริการเก้าอี้ชายหาดแสนสบายพร้อมร่มเรียงรายสวยงาม จัดเป็นล็อกๆเจ้าใครเจ้ามัน มีที่จอดรถ บาร์และร้านอาหาร ความสะดวกสบายครบวงจรในราคาที่ “ไม่เบา” หาดสวยดีค่ะ แต่มันไม่ฟินเท่าไหร่ ขึ้นชื่อว่าซาร์ดีเนียต้องได้มากกว่านี้สิ!!
อีกวันเราจึงเปลี่ยนที่หมายไปยัง Spiaggia del Principe ชายหาดขนาดเล็กที่ได้ชื่อว่าเป็น “หาดของเจ้าชาย” ด้วยเพราะเป็นหาดสุดโปรดของเจ้าชายแห่งเปอร์เซีย Prince Aga Khan บุคคลสำคัญผู้ซึ่งบุกเบิกและพัฒนาธุรกิจอสังหาริมทรัพย์ในย่าน Costa Smeralda
หาดทรายขาวละเอียด โขดหินสวย และน้ำใสแจ๋วชนิดที่สามารถมองเห็นฝูงปลาตัวน้อยว่ายไปมา บนหาดมีรถ wagon ขายอาหารจำพวกแซนด์วิช ขนมทานเล่นและเครื่องดื่ม ถึงจะมีเก้าอี้ชายหาดบริการให้เช่า แต่เราสามารถพกเอาเสื่อกับร่มมาจับจองที่กันเองก็ได้ บรรยากาศชิลล์สุดพลัง แถมยังเดินไม่ไกลจากที่จอดรถ สรรพคุณบรรยายไม่หมดขนาดนี้ ขอมอบมงกุฎเพชรพร้อมสายสะพายและโล่เกียรติยศให้เลยค่า
Another unmissable visit in this area is the Maddalena Archipelago at the northern end of Costa Smeralda. Made up by few islands of different shapes and size, it is renowned for its incredibly clear waters, pink beach and one very famous inhabitant.
While the unsettled weather meant I couldn’t rent a boat to enjoy the waters, driving around the island was still quite fascinating, and the highlight was a visit to Giuseppe Garibaldi’s house. The man behind the unification of Italy spent the last years of his life here, so his house is now a museum that attracts many visitors and tells a lot about the life and stories and this charismatic man so important for the Country.

ไม่น่าเชื่อว่าเกาะเล็กๆอย่าง Caprera คือสถานที่ที่ Giuseppe Garibaldi ใช้ชีวิตช่วงสุดท้ายของเขาก่อนจะจากโลกนี้ไป การิบัลดีคือทหารนักปฏิวัติผู้ซึ่งมีบทบาทสำคัญในการรวมชาติอิตาลี สถาปนาเป็นราชอาณาจักรอิตาลีขึ้นเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1861 มาคิดๆดูอิตาลีเป็นประเทศที่ใหม่มากๆเลยค่ะ เพิ่งจะมีอายุแค่ 157 ปีเท่านั้นเอง บ้านและหลุมศพของการิบัลดีที่เกาะ Caprera นั้นปัจจุบันได้ถูกเปลี่ยนมาเป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์เปิดให้ผู้คนเข้าเยี่ยมชมได้ เป็นหนึ่งในไฮไลท์ของทริปนี้เลยค่ะ
For those looking for fun and nightlife, there are a couple of destination to add on the list. Porto Cervo is the beating heart of the hedonistic and shopping addicted. A place trying to compete with the likes of Saint Tropez or Ibiza, but that I personally found lacking soul and real positive vibe, perhaps because the high season was coming to an end.
A lot more fun was Phi Beach, an open air disco cum restaurant that often hosts great Djs and crazy parties during the summer season. A great place to enjoy a sunset drink overlooking the bay or to dine in the restaurant.
All in all it was a very enjoyable trip, I could feel it was moving towards end of season so the place was not buzzing, but since I came here to relax it should be probably a good thing.

สำหรับสายปาร์ตี้คุณเพื่อนบ้านชี้เป้าไปที่ Phi Beach คลับและร้านอาหารแบบเอาท์ดอร์ริมหาด เราตั้งใจไปเร็วหน่อยเพื่อให้ทันดูพระอาทิตย์ตก จิบโพรเซคโค่นั่งชมพระอาทิตย์ลับขอบฟ้าบนโขดหิน ต่อด้วยอาหารมื้อโรแมนติกใต้แสงเทียน และปาร์ตี้กับดีเจเพลง house music แนวเพลงแด๊นซ์สุดโปรดของคุณสามี (เห็นอย่างนี้ฮีสายแด๊นซ์นาจา) พูดง่ายๆคือมาที่นี่ที่เดียวจบ ครบทุกความเอนเตอร์เทน สังเกตุว่าคนมาปาร์ตี้บางตาอาจเพราะเป็นช่วงปลายฤดูร้อนนักท่องเที่ยวทะยอยกลับไปบ้างแล้ว สำหรับเราเป็นค่ำคืนส่งท้ายที่ผ่านไปอย่างรวดเร็วอย่างที่เขาว่า “เวลาแห่งความสุขมักผ่านไปเร็วเสมอ”
